Dragon Lady, Chapter Two

Hello readers! I'm posting thsi chapter now because I'm facing a horribly busy month-end sort of weekend and I don't know if I'll get any time for myself to do writing or posting activities.

Dragon Lady

Chapter 2

By Brit Columbia

Fandom: FAKE
Timeline: Set after Justice in July of the FAKE First Year Together series. Also set after Volume 7 of FAKE
Summary: JJ is unhappy about a woman Drake has recently started seeing, and feels that Drake needs to be rescued.
Rating: This whole story is worksafe.
Disclaimer: FAKE, featuring Dee, Ryo, Bikky, Carol, Ted, Drake, and JJ, was created by Sanami Matoh. I make no claim on FAKE or Ms. Matoh or any of her characters. I write fanfiction with no expectation of monetary reward.
Author's Notes: Detectives James Chang and Eliza Austen are my characters. So are Lily and her brother, and Bridget, James’s girlfriend.

Bridget first appeared in FAKE First Year Together: A New Day, in Chapter 6. She was interested in Ryo, but later when she showed up at the station looking for Ryo, Dee managed to deflect her onto James instead.

Lily has appeared twice before in my FAKE stories. She was first introduced in Chapter 15 of A New Day when Ryo had lunch with Drake at a Chinese restaurant. Later she appeared about halfway through Slave to a Gladiator.

( JJ has a memorable dinner )

comments

Driven (a Happy-belated Birthday fic for my pal lunasariel)

Hello Fake fans! I'm posting this at Dreamwidth initally and crossposting to LJ because I doubt LJ has finished righting their rich text debacle and I don't feel like wasting time reformatting everything. I don't even know if this is going to work properly anyway! It could be that when I crosspost, the formatting will get screwed up by LJ anyway. I'm hoping for the best.

Anyway, regular readers of my Live Journal will recall that lunasariel's birthday arrived at a busy time in my life and I couldn't write anything for her, even though I really, really wanted to. So I promised I would post something for her by the end of August. Hence this post.

I had originally written a completely different first chapter, but when I got around to doing the outline for that one, I realized it was going to turn into a long story-- maybe fifteen or sixteen chapters. I hesitated because I don't think I can commit to another brand new long story at this point in my life. So I banged off a new first chapter to a story that will be shorter. I think I can wrap this one up in about three chapters, unless I get carried away. (It's got Diana in it, so I just might!)

Driven

by Brit Columbia

Fandom: Fake
Pairing: Berkeley/Diana
Rating: I don't know yet, but this chapter is fairly worksafe. Sort of.
Timing: Set in August in the first year of the FFYT series. That means it happened before Slave to A Gladiator.
Spoilers: Volume 7 of Sanami Matoh's Fake series
Disclaimer: All of these characters belong to Sanami Matoh. I make no money for writing fanfiction about them.
Author's notes: This is a Happy Birthday fic for lunasariel , who has been my LJ friend for years! Thanks for all the times you read and enjoyed my stories, and also for keeping me entertained with your own thought-provoking posts. I hope the coming year is both awesome and happy for you. Your exact request was "Can it pretty please involve the Commissioner being a lecherous jerk? With a possible side order of Ryo being awesome? ^.^" Well, that is exactly what will happen in this story, although Ryo has not shown up yet.

( Messing with the wrong girl... )

comments

Take Me Home

This is for Neengydot, whose birthday I missed way back in September. I recall thinking about birthday smut at that time, but I think I had too many assignments hanging over me at that time. Also, one of my biggest writing problems is an inability to be brief. Levity I can do. Brevity, unfortunately, can outrun me! Anyhow, this is my third attempt to write something short. It clocks in at only 1111 words.

Happy late birthday Neengy! Thanks for all your kind encouragement.

Take Me Home

by Brit Columbia

Fandom: FAKE

Pairing: Dee/Ryo

Rating: Mature

Disclaimer: The characters Dee, Ryo, Ted, Janet and the Chief belong to Sanami Matoh, their creator. I was not paid in any way for writing this story.

Timing: Set in the late spring of Dee and Ryo's second year together.

Spoilers: Set after Fake Volume 7

Summary: Ryo gets tipsy at a party and Dee benefits. Sheldon is my character.

Author's notes: This little story owes its existence to Neengy. It would never have been written had she not asked.

Take Me Home

by Brit Columbia

( watch out for witches bearing smoothies... )

comments

FAKE First Year Together: Justice (June), Chapter 10

A common cat complaint

I was roused from the warm, drifting tides of sleep this morning by an unmistakable and familiar sound-- that of a cat retching. The responsible half of me considered getting up to deal with it right then lest my husband wake up and step in it on his way to the bathroom, but the lazy half decided to go back to sleep and deal with the cat vomit later.

When I got up about an hour later, I searched for the puke puddle(s), but to no avail. I asked Fluff, but he just blinked sleepily at me and then led me hopefully to his dish.

Now I'm nervously wondering where and when I'm going to get a nasty surprise.

comments

FAKE First Year Together: Justice (June), Chapter 8, Part TWO

My LJ post for this chapter was deemed too large, so I had to break it up into two parts. I didn't think it was that large! I'm sure I've written and successfully posted longer chapters than this. Anyway, here is Part Two of Justice Chapter 8. Part two is totally worksafe except for some swearing.
( Justice ch 8, part TWO )

comments

FAKE First Year Together: Justice (June), Chapter 8 (Part 1)

Hi patient Fake fans! Here's Justice chapter 8, but since it's apparently too large for LJ, I'll have to post it in two parts. Hence, this is part one.

Fake First Year Together: Justice (June)

By Brit Columbia

Chapter Eight: The Forms of Things Unknown

Fandom: Fake
Pairing: Dee/ Ryo
Rating: Not worksafe, but don't get your hopes up because there's only a teeny tiny bit of naughty activity in this chapter. I really had a lot of plot-ground to cover.
Spoilers: To Volume 7
Timing: Set in June, a month or so after book 7 ended. Dee and Ryo recently became a couple in May. FAKE First Year Together: A New Day left off on Sunday night. This chapter takes place a few days later on Thursday night and Friday afternoon.
Summary: Ryo is coming to terms with what it means to be a gay man in a straight world. He and Dee are also hunting the dangerous Lieutenant Abernathy...but who is hunting whom?
Disclaimer: I am not making any money for the writing of this work of fanfiction, nor do I own Fake or any of the characters created by Sanami Matoh. Lieutenant Mike Abernathy is mine, however, and so are Bikky's friends Thomas and Dave. Other Brit characters are Detective Greenspan and her partner Detective Ruth Massey of the 99th Precinct. Eliza and Allison are two female characters I added to the CI team. James Chang and Sheldon Arios are also part of the team. Leona is the Chief's secretary. Helen is the Commissioner's secretary.
Author's notes: I see Ryo and Dee as equals. One Police Plaza is sometimes referred to as 'The Palace'. Thank you for reading!
Please send some love to my wonderful betas, the_ladyfeather, tripple_p, and shelley6441. They all beta-read this chapter twice for me!
( Justice, Chapter 8 )

comments

Slave to a Gladiator, chapter 20

Slave To A Gladiator
Chapter 20
By Brit Columbia

Fandom: Fake
Pairing: Dee and Ryo
Rating: Not worksafe. No sex yet, but there's some kissing and a naked man on a bed getting his butt whacked by a mighty gladiator. That's probably not worksafe.
Spoilers: to Volume 7
Disclaimer: Dee, Ryo and Bikky belong to Sanami Matoh, who created the popular manga, FAKE. I was not paid in any way for writing this story.
Summary: Ryo and Dee go to the bedroom. Dee's still a slave. It's punishment time, and he's hauling out the puppy-dog eyes in the hopes of saving his sorry ass!
Author's notes: Please read and review. I'll post again in two weeks.
Thank you to the_ladyfeather, tripple_p and shelley6441 for culling out all my mistakes. You guys are awesome!

( I'd bite a pillow, if I were you )

comments

No, honest, I'm not on drugs...

First of all, I'd like to thank all the people who were kind enough to weigh in with their two cents on my previous post Two things I'm considering and need advice on. I haven't been able to answer everyone yet, but I'm going to make a point of doing that this weekend.

Here's an update on one of those two things. The laser eye surgery is a no-go.( still stuck with my glasses )

comments

Slave to a Gladiator chapter 19

We've had a lot of rain where I live, recently. This is of course the rainy west coast of Canada, and please don't think I'm complaining. I can ride my bike in the rain, but not on snow and ice. I love winter. It's by far my favorite season. I would actually like it to be a little colder, but not cold enough to bring the aforementioned unbikable snowy and icy roads.

Some of you may also know that I'm somewhat of a boot collector. I love boots, all kinds of boots. I'm always looking for colored boots, like blue, green, or red. They're very hard to find, especially in a small city like mine. I have a purple pair, a red pair and a royal blue pair. I had a green pair but I stupidly left them at the gym two years ago and went home in my running shoes. Never saw them again, as you might imagine. But, over the years, I have accumulated a lot of boots.

Anyway, last weekend the nonstop heavy rain and pretty much my entire collection of boots had an unfortunate encounter.( a deluge to wash a way the sins of the boots )

Slave To A Gladiator
Chapter 19
By Brit Columbia
Fandom: Fake
Pairing: Dee and Ryo
Rating: Still worksafe. Sorry! There's a kiss, though.
( a fine specimen )

comments
